Jay Walder joins Citymapper's Board of Directors

We're excited to announce that Jay Walder has joined our Board of Directors.

Over a 35-year career, Jay has headed the Mass Transit Railway Corporation in Hong Kong, the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and served as Managing Director of Transport for London. In addition, he also was the CEO of Motivate, the largest bike sharing service in North America (acquired by Lyft), and Virgin Hyperloop, a new form of transportation being explored around the world.

“I am very excited to be joining the Citymapper Board as a Non-Executive Director. What could be better than joining a company whose products you know and love? Like so many others, I rely on Citymapper to get around cities. Mobility is so important to our quality of life and Citymapper is making travel easier and greener for millions of people around the world.

I joined the board at Citymapper because it provides a best in class application that is loved by its end users. It is also the most well positioned to build on that success in the post pandemic world. As the types of mobility options continue to multiply in cities, coupled with newly flexible work schedules, we are on the verge of one of the greatest changes in mobility we’ve seen in a century. Citymapper offering its technology to transit and other adjacent categories is fulfilling a critical need in the market and is a logical step that has the potential to dramatically improve transit experiences and operational efficiency."

JAY WALDER

It is hard to think of anyone who has a deeper understanding of public transportation than Jay. He has worked to deliver transport services on three continents, both in government and as a private sector partner. I am very happy to have him join our Board and help guide the next stage of our company’s development.”

Welcome aboard, Jay!
